The abstract quality of reality, 2017
The field that I based on is broadly around different faultless between visual perception and
reality. The reason why I often located myself around visual experience is that, although I studied
Fine Art , I’m also fascinated to theology. As a result, visual sense for me is quite a contention.
It is absolute questionable and mistrust, but at the same time, it definitely, exists for reasons.
The curiosity between these relationships brought me in this field.
My practice tended to explore the truthfulness beyond perception by exaggeratedly utilizing
different ambiguous deviation between perception and reality. As for the theme of this project is the
abstraction quality of reality. Abstraction, a “ taking-away” or “draw from” process in philosophy
(Kreeft, 2009), or as a compression process simplified the data and generalizing into a vaguer one
(Hofstader, 1999). As a result, using this compression feature to illustrate the abstraction became
my material. To put in another context to make it clearer, Cubism was about to demonstrate the
wholeness of an object by forming various of perspectives and angles of an object into one flatten
frame. In the same point of view, whereas my work tries to present the result of how the visual
experience compresses the sublimity angles into fragmentary.
